On the Patagonia Adventure Guide Program you will be based in El Chaltén. Everything is within walking distance from the accommodation you will be staying in, if it is not within walking distance, we will have minivans as transport.

Yes of course! You will be with a local guide throughout the program and highly skilled instructors who will be teaching and mentoring you in the outdoors.

El Chaltén is a safe town, with a good mix of locals and tourists. The accommodation you will be staying in is private and will only be occupied by Pure Exploration participants.

We recommend you have a moderate level of fitness. You must be comfortable carrying a 15kg/30lb backpack for multiple days, camping out in remote wilderness, and prepared to do activities five days a week.

No prior rock climbing, hiking or mountaineering experience is required.

Local delights like: Cordero Patagónico (Patagonia Lamb), empanadas filled with meat, cheese or vegetables, asado (traditional Argentine BBQ), Mate (hot tea), Dulce de Leche (sweet caramel spread).

There are grocery stores where you can buy regular food, vegetables, meat. Specific dietary requirements can usually be catered for, however if you have snacks that you want to bring from home we recommend doing so.

The weather in Patagonia is unpredictable and varies a lot. Make sure you check your gear list and bring all mandatory equipment with you.

We use in-country local guides. They are all highly skilled International Federation of Mountain Guide Association (IFMGA) qualified instructors. You can expect to learn a lot of practical, quality outdoor skills from them.
