Whilst visiting the thrilling vistas of San Jose, Sarapiqui, and Ruta del Rey Zona de los Santos, you will learn and discover the outdoors like never before. Exploring the pristine waters of Rio Naranjo and Golfo Dulce by sea kayak offers a unique perspective, while the final rafting expedition down the legendary Pacuare River promises an unforgettable experience.

On the Costa Rica Wilderness Adventure you will traverse the country. From the tropical jungles, to the crystal clear oceans and along mountain ridges; you'll see it all! Places you'll visit: San Jose, Sarapiqui, Ruta del Ray Zona de los Santos, Golfo Dulce and more!

Yes of course! You will be with program instructors throughout the program who will be teaching and mentoring you along the journey. Costa Rica is regarded as a safe country to travel too.

We recommend you have a moderate level of fitness. You must be comfortable carrying a 15kg/30lb backpack for multiple days, camping out in remote wilderness, and prepared to do activities five days a week.

Usually the program will run five days a week (Mon-Fri), this is dependant on weather, location, and other factors. But you can expect to have a couple of days each week to rest and explore.

Costa Rica offers a varied climate year-round, ensuring a dynamic outdoor experience, from warm tropical climates to cooler subalpine environments. We recommend you plan and prepare for all weather conditions when travelling to Costa Rica. Temperatures range from 8°C to 30°C (46°F to 86°F).

We have a range of program instructors who will guide you, mentor you and work with you along your 6 week journey with us.

Most meals are included on our 6 week Costa Rica Program. You can check out the program itinerary to see what days and meals are included. You can expect to eat rice, beans, chicken, beef, pork and vegetables cooked in traditional ways. When you’re out on multiday expeditions you’ll learn the craft of backcountry cooking!
