What This 6-Week Program Is About
This intensive program is designed to immerse you in New Zealand's climbing culture while equipping you with foundational skills for safe and enjoyable climbing. Over six weeks, you’ll learn the essentials of rock climbing and gain confidence in outdoor settings through hands-on instruction, exploration of iconic climbing areas, and group-based learning. It’s perfect for those new to climbing or looking to expand their skills in a supportive environment.

Skills and Training
New Zealand offers a diverse climbing experience, from rugged alpine crags to seaside cliffs. Its unique landscapes provide a range of climbing styles, such as sport climbing, traditional climbing, and bouldering, making it a haven for both beginners and seasoned climbers. With rich Māori cultural stories connected to the land and awe-inspiring scenery, climbing in New Zealand is as much about adventure as it is about connecting with the natural environment.
Skills you will learn:
- Anchor building, belaying, rope management, and abseiling techniques.
- Essential climbing techniques for different rock types, navigation of climbing routes, and effective risk assessment.
- Environmental stewardship and Māori cultural appreciation, ensuring a well-rounded experience that combines technical expertise with respect for the land.
Where Will You Go?
You'll explore some of New Zealand’s best climbing destinations, including the crag's of Wānaka, Queenstown, the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean in Dunedin and the sea cliffs in Charleston. Each week takes you to a new location, where you'll practice your skills and experience the country's striking landscapes, from native forests to alpine environments.
